The third victim of the Plague Doctor in Major Grom: Plague Doctor is a man named Filipp Zilchenko, the owner of a massive dumpster outside St. Petersburg. Portrayed by Yuriy Vaksman, Zilchenko is abducted by the serial killer with his wife and son, and all three of them are burnt alive inside his dumpster, in punishment for all the diseases he has brought to the community. In the comics, Zilchenko is named Gennady rather than Filipp, and albeit he’s caused many deaths, his job is a completely different one… as is the reason for which he’s killed. Let’s see together.
A proud member of the elite of St. Petersburg, Gennady Zilchenko was among the most famous and overpaid doctors in the entire city. He was the head physician of the oncology department in the public hospital, but despite his fame, his service wasn’t exactly an exemplary one: corrupt and plain cruel, Zilchenko stole drugs from the hospital, and sold them to third parties as narcotics, leaving the patients without them. Every time he registered the use of a certain drug on a patient, he gave the latter only a placebo, keeping the actual drug and selling it on the black market instead. This little game of his went on for years, enough for the people to guess the trick and to publicly demand his arrest, but thanks to his trade Zilchenko had friends in high places, and was untouchable by the system. His negligence and activities costed the lives of many, but nobody could do anything against it: with time, Zilchenko started to see himself as invulnerable, and for this reason he accepted to work also with Sergei Razumovsky, an eccentric billionaire who had built a mansion outside town and had rearranged it for human hunts with homeless people and beggars, the undesirables he wanted to purge the city from.
Razumovsky didn’t require much from Zilchenko: all he needed was a drug, Promedol, that he used to sedate the unwilling participants to his games. From time to time, however, Zilchenko also provided some medical consult, actively taking part to the hunt. All good games must come to an end, however, and eventually Razumovsky killed the wrong guy, the blogger Ivan Penkov, and immediately all his accomplishes, Zilchenko included, decided to back away, with the (untrustworthy) promise that they would have never said anything about the entire affair. Not long after the “incident”, a mysterious vigilante who called himself the Plague Doctor appeared in St. Petersburg, hunting for the evil and corrupted citizens that the system couldn’t touch. Zilchenko didn’t make the connection between the Plague Doctor and his old pal Sergei Razumovsky, and that was his end: the Plague Doctor paid him visit one night, ambushing him just outside his hospital. After a brief fight, the doctor was overpowered, and the vigilante hung him in front of the hospital itself, gutting him before he died. Doctor Zilchenko was found the morning after, a gruesome spectacle to behold, and the reason for his murder was, allegedly, the many people he had let die in his hospital: oddly enough, the public opinion wasn’t too saddened that the good doctor had received such a treatment…

Wealthy and famous, Zilchenko doesn’t mind what the people think of him, as long as he can retain his job and his position… something that his powerful clients make sure he can do.
